Chuck Callies was promoted to the position of Vice President, Power Delivery, on April 13, 2004. Callies joined Dairyland on June 18, 1990, as Supervisor, Load Management. In 1991, he was promoted to the position of Manager, Operations Computers, and promoted to Director, System Operations in 1999. Before joining Dairyland, Callies worked with East River Electric Cooperative, Madison, S.D., for 14 years. A native of Howard, S.D., Callies earned a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and an associate's degree in computer science from Dakota State University. As the former Chairman of the North American Electric Reliability Council Telecommunications Sub-committee, he was instrumental in the development of NERCnet, the NERC data communications network. Callies is a former President of the Siemens Customer Association, and is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. He also served in the United States Army. Callies and his wife, Carla, own Ambiance, an interior design business and store located in downtown La Crosse. |
