Brian Boettcher, Director, Information Technology, joined Dairyland in June 1999, bringing with him over 15 years of experience in programming and information systems. From 1983 to 1994, Boettcher was employed at IBM (Rochester, Minn.) where he advanced to the position of Program Manager, New Product Development. From 1994 to 1997, Boettcher’s software expertise in the position of Quality Assurance Manager guided The Marshfield Clinic’s information system organization. Boettcher was the Information Systems Manager of Technical Services at Fastenal (Winona, Minn.) from 1997 to 1999. Boettcher graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 1983 with a bachelor of science degree in applied mathematics, computer science and electronics. Governing the day-to-day business operations of Dairyland’s Information Technology (IT) department is Boettcher’s responsibility. Primarily, this entails leveraging the latest technology to provide enhancements to employee productivity and efficiency, which in turn lowers the overall cost of doing business. Along with this, Boettcher sets IT’s vision and strategy to be consistent with Dairyland’s strategic plan and develops software and hardware systems. His aim is to “create a web-based environment to be proactive for Dairyland Power’s future.” Boettcher is active with several professional affiliations, including the La Crosse Area IT Directors’ Leadership Organization, the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s (NRECA) IT Community Advisory Group and the Western Technical College’s Educational Steering Committee. |
