William L. Berg, President and CEO of Dairyland Power Cooperative, is a lifelong resident of Wisconsin. He was graduated from the University of Wisconsin with Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degrees in Electrical Engineering in 1971 and 1972, respectively. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Wisconsin and a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
From 1972 to 1974, Mr. Berg was employed by Wisconsin Electric Power Company, Milwaukee, in various engineering capacities. Mr. Berg has been employed by Dairyland since 1974, and assumed the duties of chief executive officer in 1990.
Mr. Berg serves on a variety of boards and committees, including the Board of Directors of GEN~SYS Energy and the Board of Advisors of Viterbo University and its Executive Committee. He is currently serving on the USDA/DOE Biomass Research and Development Technical Advisory Committee and the Rail Energy Transportation Advisory Committee of the Surface Transportation Board of the U.S. Department of Transportation. He is a member of the Environmental Task Force of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association and is Vice President of the Board of the National Renewables Cooperative. He is a past-president of the National G&T Managers’ Association and has served on the Board of Directors of the Electric Power Research Institute.
